FRIZLEN expands its renewable energy capacities

FRIZLEN has been using a new photovoltaic system (PV system) on the company premises since November 2023. With an output capacity of 277 kWp, the system helps to cover the company's electricity needs more efficiently and sustainably. The new system is expected to generate around 250,000 kWh of electricity per year, which corresponds to more than 35% of the electricity required for FRIZLEN's parts production.

Sustainable energy generation as part of the corporate strategy

The installation of the PV system is an important step in the company's long-term sustainability strategy. FRIZLEN is pursuing the goal of constantly reducing its CO2 footprint and reducing its dependence on conventional energy sources. “With this system, we can generate a considerable amount of our own electricity and thus make an active contribution to environmental protection,” explains Alexander Horn, Managing Partner at FRIZLEN.

The new PV system is not the first of its kind for the company. FRIZLEN had already invested in photovoltaics before, meaning that the total capacity of the PV systems at the site is now over 430 kWp. “It was only logical for us to further expand our capacities in this area. This will not only enable us to reduce our energy costs in the long term, but also further improve our carbon footprint,” continues Alexander Horn. “The new plant has now generated over 200,000 MWh of electricity in the first 8 months. We are therefore particularly pleased on sunny days, as our machines can then be operated practically CO2-free.”

Gradual expansion of renewable energies

FRIZLEN does not see the introduction of this technology as a one-off measure, but as part of an ongoing process. The experience with the first PV system has strengthened the company's decision to invest further in renewable energies. The success of the systems to date has given FRIZLEN the opportunity to make its own energy supply more sustainable and to gain experience in integrating renewable energies.

“We want to make our contribution to a sustainable industry in Germany and Baden-Württemberg” says Julia Horn, Managing Partner at FRIZLEN. “It is important to us that we move forward step by step towards sustainability without losing sight of feasibility and profitability.”

The new PV system therefore represents another important step for FRIZLEN towards reducing the company's ecological footprint.
